nown is a creative studio interested in objects we already know, and what they could become.
Moving between fashion and design, the studio explores form, material and fabrication to create objects that feel instinctively familiar, yet distinctly different.

Behind the Studio
nown is the practice of Ana Lirola Fernandez, an independent creative working between Spain, the Netherlands, and Qatar.
Shaped by a life across different places and creative environments, her perspective moves between fashion, objects and design.
nown gives that perspective a name, a space for Ana to develop ideas independently, collaborate across disciplines and build a body of work that can evolve without belonging to a single category.
The name itself reflects this openness:

Approach
nown starts with what we already know.
Known objects and forms become a starting point for questioning how things are made, what they are made from, how they function and what we expect them to be.
Rather than designing from a blank page, nown works through reinterpretation, keeping something recognisable while shifting its material, construction or process.
The first exploration begins with the Handbag Collection, using contemporary fabrication to reconsider an established object through a different way of making.
But the approach is not tied to one product or category. It is a way of looking at things.
